  5. TotalNET(TM) Advanced Server (TAS) network software products from 
  6. Syntax(TM), now available on SunSoft's Solaris(TM) x86 operating 
  7. environment, allow the integration of popular desktop computing 
  8. platforms into heterogeneous enterprise network configurations. 
  9. The TAS product family uses UNIX(R) systems as enterprise advanced 
  10. LAN servers, running UNIX processes such as databases, 
  11. communications gateways and network file systems.

  13. TAS allows LAN Manager(TM), NetWare(R) and Macintosh(R) clients to 
  14. share data and resources through UNIX servers. TAS services 
  15. include file and printer sharing, administration, DOS archiving, 
  16. NetBIOS directory services, terminal emulation, security, and 
  17. advanced client/server options. The TAS components -- LMserver 
  18. Plus (for LAN Manager), NWserver (NetWare) and MACserver 
  19. (Macintosh) -- are designed to interoperate seamlessly through the 
  20. UNIX server.

  45. applications under DeskSet(TM). Numerous commercial third-party 
  46. applications, including many Microsoft(R) Windows and DOS 
  47. applications, run on the Solaris x86 environment.
